Battery systems

Store and use energy efficiently, when you need it.

Batteries, an important part of the energy system

Whether you want to utilize the energy from solar cells more efficiently, want to reduce your electricity bill, or need a reliable power source, a battery system can be the solution.

We have developed proprietary power electronics and controls that allow you to use batteries as part of your energy system and achieve a range of features and benefits.

Battery systems

Energy storage

Batteries can be used to store energy so that you can use it when you need it. This is called energy storage.

You can use energy storage to optimize your PV system or for so-called energy trading – buying energy when it’s cheap and selling from the battery system when the energy is expensive.

Battery systems

Mobile energy storage

Mobile energy storage units are battery solutions that are easy to move. If you have a temporary energy need and little or no access to energy, mobile energy storage can be a good solution for energy supply.

The batteries in a mobile energy storage unit are recharged via the grid or via fast charging at a charging station.

Do you need mobile energy storage for the construction industry?

Battery systems

Peak Shaving

Batteries can help you reduce or “shave” the power peaks in your energy consumption, especially during periods when power consumption is high.

To be able to shave off power peaks, surplus electricity must be stored in batteries when demand is low. In this way, the battery can release the power you need when the demand for energy rises above what you have available.

This is a good strategy for reducing your electricity costs. Peak Shaving allows you to cut power peaks so that you pay a lower grid rent.

Peak shaving is also an important function in situations where generators provide part of the energy supply. If the power is too low, the battery can take the power peaks as needed.

Battery systems

Web support

Batteries can be used as grid support in areas where the public power grid does not provide enough voltage to meet demand.

The battery is recharged when the energy demand is low and helps when the energy demand increases beyond what the grid can provide.

Examples of such situations where online support is needed are:

  • When there is high demand for electricity in an area.
  • For fast charging of electric cars: The power grid doesn’t have enough power to charge many cars at once. That’s why batteries are used to relieve the power grid and ensure that several cars can be charged at the same time.
  • Unstable power grid: In areas with unstable power grids, batteries can help stabilize the power supply

Battery systems

Emergency power

Batteries can act as an emergency power solution, ensuring power supply even if the ordinary power connection fails. The battery solution can also be used as a UPS (uninterruptible power supply).

This means that the transition from normal operation to emergency occurs so quickly that it is hardly noticeable. Emergency power batteries can be customized with different powers and storage capacities as needed.

Battery systems

Diesel hybrid

Diesel hybrid is an energy system that combines a diesel generator and batteries. The generator creates electricity that is used for consumption and to charge the batteries. When the batteries are fully charged, the generator is stopped and all power consumption comes from the batteries. When the battery level approaches empty, the generator starts to charge the batteries again.

The system helps to reduce the use of the generators because all electricity production takes place when the generators are most efficient.

As a general rule, a generator produces four times more power per liter of diesel when it is running optimally compared to when it is idling. Diesel hybrid systems are equipped with controls that ensure the generators run optimally and start and stop automatically.

This solution reduces generator running time, diesel consumption, noise and emissions. Fewer operating hours on the generator also means less maintenance.

The figure shows a 24-hour visualization. The example is from a fish farm where energy consumption is low during the night, and high during the day when the industrial equipment is in operation.
