Solar cells for agriculture
Do you want to reduce your electricity bill and at the same time minimize the climate footprint of your farm? Then a photovoltaic system is the solution for you.
Save money on your electricity bill with a solar system adapted to your roof
With rooftop solar, you can produce your own electricity and cover a large proportion of your power needs at a lower fixed price. As one of the first solar suppliers to farmers in Norway, you can rest assured that we will provide you with the best advice throughout the buying process.
Large roof surfaces on barns or other buildings are particularly suitable for photovoltaic systems and can be efficiently utilized for electricity production. We have helped many farmers with photovoltaic systems and have solid experience in designing solutions that ensure you get the most out of your roof.
If you invest in a photovoltaic system, you can produce a large proportion of your electricity needs at a fixed price.
A photovoltaic system for agriculture will typically have a payback period of 6-7 years at current electricity prices.
A photovoltaic system has a production guarantee of 30 years.

You can get investment support
There are many different support schemes for renewable energy solutions. Innovation Norway, Enova and the municipality all offer different schemes. It can be difficult to know which support schemes apply and how to apply to get a positive answer.
Our energy advisors are always up to date on which support schemes apply and can guide you through the application process.
Solar cells for agriculture
You get full control of your facility
You also get a full overview of real-time and historical production data via a dedicated user portal, so you can keep an eye on things when it suits you. You can use the portal via both PC and mobile.
The system is also used to remotely monitor the plant so that you can be sure that the plant is in operation and that you get the best possible utilization of your investment.
Solar cells, batteries and fast charging – part of the future of agriculture
Agriculture must contribute to reducing society’s climate impact, and the transition to electric machines and tractors is part of this.
If you plan to use electric tractors and other machines in the future, you will need more energy and fast charging.
That’s why we’re developing battery and fast-charging solutions tailored to the agricultural sector, making the transition from diesel to electric machines easy.
The PV system you buy today is prepared for tomorrow’s solutions and can be expanded with both batteries and fast charging solutions.
Our projects
One of Norway’s largest facilities can be found at Ganddal
In the winter of 2018-2019, we installed a solar cell system at a farmer’s farm in Ganddal. It is probably the largest system installed in agriculture in Norway. The system has a solar cell output of 4000 kWp and a battery storage of 370 kWh.
The plant will produce energy for livestock farming and we have designed it to produce 360,000 kWh annually.
Trond Mjåtveit
The farmer had solar panels installed on his farm at Rimestad in spring 2022. The system consists of 400 panels of 158 kWp.
Solar production: 158,639 kWh/year
CO2 savings: 74,530 kg/year
Petter Aarestad
In the fall of 2022, farmer Petter Aarestad had a photovoltaic system with 352 panels of 138 kWp installed on his farm at Undheim.
Solar production: 148,565 kWh/year
CO2 savings: 69,761 kg/year
Hå Rugeri
Nærbø in Rogaland is home to Norway’s second largest hatchery. In November, they installed solar cells on three buildings, a total of 488 panels of 167 kWp.
Solar production: 168,669 kWh/year
CO2 savings: 92,319 kg/year
Odd Grødem
In the summer of 2023, Odd Grødem installed 360 solar panels of 151kWp on the loose housing barn and chicken coop at Bryne.
Solar production: 150,157 kWh/year
CO2 savings: 70,544 kg/year
